Health and Safety

All travel carries risks, and travel to developing countries carries certain heightened risks. Prior to your arrival, during the orientation process, and throughout your stay, ATRAVES helps you to manage these risks as prudently and effectively as you can. We provide advice on maintaining proper health and wellbeing, we offer local knowledge on precautions against crime, accidents and hazards, and we help you to respond to emergencies or other problems that may arise. Volunteers assume their own risks for their health, safety, property and satisfaction. ATRAVES helps volunteers make effective choices and maintain effective practices in managing those risks.

For any additional questions about health safety, please contact us at volunteers@atraves.org. We are happy to discuss any concern that you, your institution or your loved ones may have.
